Is Viagra Safe?

February 22nd, 2010

Viagra is a popularly known and used prescription. But with all the competition lately from natural alternatives that are being seen on TV and are receiving a fair amount of attention, they do have to actually stand up, not just relying on a name alone. Kleenex doesn’t have to do that, because when we think about those, we think their name is Kleenex, when actually that is just a brand name. Heinz doesn’t have to, because that is the most popular name in ketchup that we all automatically think of. But Viagra is facing greater competition when it comes right down to it than ever before.

So why choose Viagra? Does Viagra work better? Can we actually count on it? The problem is that Viagra does work, but there is always a catch. It does actually provide results. It has been proven in clinical studies to provide results, and consumer reviews have also attested to this, which is why it has remained popular. But like so many others, it comes with potentially serious side effects, which is why they are having so many greater issues trying to find alternatives.

But do the natural alternatives work? There are products like Vig RX for example, which are well known to say the least. However, the problem is that unfortunately enough, they often do not come with results. For example, most natural male enhancement products like Vig RX have a problem going all the way. They are finding the right ingredients. But they are too cheap when it comes right down to it to invest the right amounts. So ultimately, you come up with a dud.

But while Vig RX does not work, there are ultimately speaking products that do. For example, Orexis has all the right ingredients, and it has the right amounts. So while comparing to the bigger prescription in benefits, it does not cause the same side effects.

Low Carb Diets

September 23rd, 2009

My sister has recently been feeling like things with her body are just not right.  A number of years ago she went on a diet that she was able to lose a great deal of weight on.  I believe it’s call Prism.  It is a diet that has a reduced amount of carbohydrates in the beginning, while letting your body get over it’s addiction to sugar.  I think most of us do have an addiction to sugar.  Anyway, it lets you re-introduce carbs into your diet in phases, but mostly whole grains and complex carbohydrates.  It doesn’t just let you have free reign on sugar again by any means.

Anyway, over time, my sister has gained some of her weight back.  She has decided that maybe this is why she has been feeling like her body isn’t right.  She has decided to do this diet again in hopes of re-gaining some energy and health as well.  The foods that we put into our bodies should really be thought out more than most of us do.  So many things that we eat actually make us feel more sluggish and miserable in the long run.  While I don’t think you should cut out carbs completely, I think that cutting down on them is not a bad idea.

Professional Weight Loss Methods

September 22nd, 2009

I started thinking about how I could best lose weight while still maintaining a healthy agenda. I did not want to compromise any health issues to lose weight quickly and or easily. I realize that in some cases losing weight is not easy and I am not sure that it is supposed to be that way. After consulting many different health books as well as various web sites, I decided that the first thing I should do is visit my physician for a check up to see if he had any ideas of what would work best for me.

After a great visit to my doctor I found that I was otherwise fairly healthy which made me feel a lot better about starting a diet knowing that there were no real health concerns that I had to be aware of. My doctor did say that knowing what your overall health condition is can really help during the diet process. There may be unknown things going on in your body that could make certain exercises or diet programs that could put you to risk. My doctor told me that my diet should be fairly simple. By adding more exercise into my daily routing and eating less sugar, I would be feeling great in no time at all. I would recommend visiting your doctor to see what tips they might have for you.

Dieting Tips

September 22nd, 2009

There are a couple of concepts that seem to hold true in a diet regardless of what diet you go on. These rules would not be the same if you resort to some sort of surgery or follow a prescription plan. The two most basic rules are simple yet almost always forgotten. One, consume fewer calories than you normally do and two burn more calories than normal also. With these two things combined you will always lose weight. Some of the most popular diet programs today are instituting this anyway.

They are giving a diet with roughly 1700-1800 calories. Then they simply want you to do even a few minutes of exercise per day. Where this system gets broken is that people can’t or don’t usually stay with this program. Either because they don’t like the new eating habits or they just lose interest. Either way once you stop the program these pounds are really good at finding their way back to you hips. One of the biggest ways to keep the weight off is to be dedicated to what your plan is. The second you stop doing your weight loss program is the second that old habits come right back in to play. Decide now what you are going to do.

Skinny Jeans

September 16th, 2009

Today when I got ready for my day and went through my daily routine, I had an experience that I have yet to decide if it was scary or depressing. In preparation for my day today, I did everything the same as I normally do. I took a shower, ironed my clothes, and got dressed. During this process there was a small problem. When I got to the part where I put my pants on, they seemed to fit a little different than they had in the past.

This particular pair of pants I have not worn for a few weeks so when they did not fit I thought it to be a bit odd since it was not that long since I last wore them. When I tired to zip them up that was like trying to put a square block into a round hole, not happening! Luckily for me I was the only one around to witness this ordeal. Everyone else had gone to school or work. So there I sat all alone in a pair of pants that did not agree with me any longer. I am not sure that I will share this experience with any of them either. Some things are better left unsaid. I have decided based on this experience that a diet program is an immediate need. Pants are folded back in the closet and I will give them a try again in a month or so.

Weight Loss Surgery

September 14th, 2009

A couple of years ago, my aunt underwent gastric bypass surgery for being overweight. She has been overweight most of her life. I wouldn’t say that she was by any means the largest person I’ve ever seen, but she was overweight. I don’t know if at any time she went on any weight loss program, or took diet pills. It just seemed like all of the sudden she announced that she was going to have this surgery.

Sometimes I wonder if people have the surgery as a quick fix to lose weight. Definitely there are some people who are so beyond a diet pill, but it seems to me that if you have determination, that you can do anything. I think it is impatience that gets to people. Losing weight takes a lot of time. But also, it did take time to put the weight on as well. We can’t expect that overnight we can have the weight just drop off. Patience and hard work and determination is what it takes to take the pounds off. Having alterations to our body is very risky, and can have very negative effects. Before signing up for surgery, I think that it is important to consider all of the ramifications.

Cycling & Fat Burning

September 14th, 2009

I have not ridden a bicycle for quite some time. I went for a ride with the kids the other day and I have not been sore like I was the next day. I have not been overly active for a while due to an injury that I sustained. I was instructed that riding a bike would do me wonders. So upon the request of the doctor I jumped on a bike and off I went. We did not ride real far, I thought. Try telling that to my legs and butt. My legs were so sore that walking was a challenge. When I got out of bed that next morning I could barely keep myself from falling over.

I suppose this speaks volumes about my physical activity, or the lack thereof! What does this tell me? This says I need to be more active no matter what that activity is. My doctor told me how great riding a bike is for you in many ways. One it is a low impact activity, meaning you don’t have a lot of stress on joints like you would during running. Second it is also a great cardio activity if you ride at a fairly steady pace. I have decided after this little ride that maybe I should be doing this a little more often. If nothing else it will keep my kids from making fun of me for bringing up the rear.

Healthy Foods

September 11th, 2009

Tonight and tomorrow I am going to a conference with my sisters and mom. I am so excited for a girls night out. It should be a lot of fun. We have already chosen the places that we are going to have dinner tonight, and lunch tomorrow. Isn’t that interesting? Anytime we plan a get to get together with friends or sisters, or even a night out with our spouse, one of the main things that we tend to focus on is where we are going to eat. If we are having a party of any kind, what are we going to eat?

When we have a meeting at work, we also have to decide what or where we are going to eat. What an interesting thing it is that food is such a huge part of our thought process. Everything revolves around food! That is why it is so important to take inventory on yourself, and make some decisions in your life. Each day you are going to be faced with these things, and the choices you make will affect your health. If you are going out, most places will have healthy options available. If you are going to a party, most of the time there will be healthy choices available. It’s up to you what you choose, but just remember that whatever you choose will have an effect on your health.

Public School Exercise

September 10th, 2009

The other day at my kids’ elementary school they were having fitness test in their P.E. class. I think these were just to assess where the kids are at the end of the year so that they can gauge their progress throughout the year. They did a variety of exercises during their class period. My daughter who is 11 apparently had a real struggle doing push-ups and was unable to perform one push-up in her allotted time frame.

Her P.E. teacher was very nice to her, maybe because we are friends, and gave her some encouragement. He told her that if she works on doing push ups everyday little by little they will get easier. He gave her an idea that if she is watching T.V. she could do 2 push-ups during commercials and before she knows it she will be able to do several push-ups without a problem. I think we can all apply this simple theory into our own lives, especially if we are dieting. We can’t expect to see miracles over night. We have to put in a little effort and be patient to see some results. Too often we start a diet and get frustrated because we don’t see results right away. Do a little more each week and before you know it you have shed those pounds!

Fad Diets

September 9th, 2009

All over the internet, and all over television, magazines, and pretty much everywhere you look, you can find so many ways to exercise, or to go on a diet. It’s amazing to me to think about the diet fads, even over the past five or ten years. We have gone through low calorie diets, low carb diets, protein only diets, eating only cabbage soup, celery, or grapefruit. I wonder what will come up next.

The key in dieting is the same thing that has worked for millions of years. Eat less, and exercise more. I find the eating less is always just a little bit harder than it sounds. Wouldn’t it be great if you just woke up one day and said to yourself, ‘I’m going to eat less starting today’, and you actually did it? Sometimes we have to have a little assistance in that area.

I think that by adding a diet supplement to help curb the appetite is okay, or eating those foods like almonds, or peanuts, or even peanut butter are natural appetite suppressants. There are a number of ways you can go about it. I do not like to have any pills that give me a “boost” though, because whatever is in them for the boost is too much for me. I don’t like the way I feel most of the time with those. Try keeping it simple. You may actually find that it works for the long term.
